Not Your Problem

When my sister Cristina was getting older, I noticed whenever I would ask her to do anything, she would say, "not my problem". If I was rushing out of the house in the morning and I was responsible for taking out the trash, I would ask her to do it and she'd say, "did daddy ask me to do it?" I'd respond, "nope!" She'd say,"welp, not my problem". Talk about nerve wrecking.
I told myself, one day I'll give her credit for this and I guess today is the day.
She taught me something she probably never realized. In more ways than one, she has helped me discover every problem isn't my problem to solve. Let me explain. Many of you have the tendency to want to be all things to all people and solve everyone's problems. Causing you to shoulder responsibilities that don't belong to you. You inherit stress, relationship issues, financial strains and so much more all because you are trying to solve problems that aren't your problems to solve.
As you are preparing for the rest of your week, I want to challenge you to think about the problems you are attempting to solve and honestly answer the questions below.
Is this my problem to solve?
What can I do to make sure I'm not carrying the problems of others?
